A Gloucester Tradition 68 Years Strong The Gloucester International Dory Racing Committee, Inc. is engaged in the promotion and sponsorship of dory racing in the United States of America. We are a non-profit organization located in Gloucester, Massachusetts.
Our program is over 50 years old and allows our members beautiful time on our historic waterfront, while promoting maritime heritage and healthy individual and family competition and fun.

The cost to become a member of the Committee is $150 per year for rowers and $52 per year for non-rowing supporters. Junior memberships (18 and under) are no charge but forms must be filed with committee.

Committee member benefits include an invitation to all events held throughout the year. Our 2025 schedule will include the elimination race events and annual cookouts, a Canadian Reception event, waterfront awards ceremony held during the week of the Gloucester International Dory Races, as well as an invitation to attend the Lunenburg racing festivities in Nova Scotia. We are also planning the 15th annual Oarmaster’s Cup Solo Race, the Ten Pound Island Race, a Novice Program and much more. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of a 72 year old Gloucester tradition.

Rower member benefits include all of the committee member benefits plus 365 day per year access to practice dories at the Town Landing dock (St. Peter’s Square). Invitation to participate in all Committee sponsored races and approved use of dories for other non-Committee sponsored races, “expense” paid trip to Nova Scotia, Canada for winners of all 5 divisions (Junior Men 18 years and under, Women, Men over 50 , Mixed-doubles & Men’s open) in Summer 2025, and inclusion in our mentor program to help new rowers learn proper dory rowing techniques.
